About Mark DeMontis
Disability market strategist and accessibility expert
Mark DeMontis is a disability market strategist and accessibility expert who helps organizations understand how accessibility influences customer behavior, transaction completion, and long-term business performance across physical and digital environments.

With more than two decades of experience spanning nonprofit leadership, media, government advisory roles, and corporate consulting, Mark works with leadership teams to identify where customer experiences break down and how accessibility barriers translate into lost revenue. His work supports organizations operating across North America.

From lived experience to strategic insight
At seventeen, Mark experienced sudden sight loss that changed the course of his life. That experience shaped his understanding of how systems, environments, and decisions either enable or exclude participation.
Mark went on to found Canadian Blind Hockey and complete two cross-Canada inline skate journeys supporting people who are blind or partially sighted. While this advocacy remains an important part of his personal story, today it informs a broader strategic perspective focused on independence, dignity, and access within real-world customer experiences.
His lived experience allows him to see friction points others miss and to translate those insights into practical guidance for organizations navigating complex physical and digital journeys.
How Mark works with organizations
Mark advises organizations on reducing friction across customer journeys where trust, ease, and transaction completion matter most. His work focuses on helping leaders understand accessibility not as a compliance obligation, but as a driver of performance and growth.
He supports organizations by providing:
• Strategic insight across physical and digital customer journeys
• Perspective on where and why transactions fail
• Guidance that improves customer experience without major system change
• Advisory support for retail, payments, ecommerce, financial services, and enterprise environments
From Compliance to Commercial Impact
For many organizations, accessibility has historically been treated as a requirement to manage risk. While compliance matters, it does not guarantee customers can complete transactions or move through experiences independently.
Mark helps leadership teams reframe accessibility as a commercial lever. By improving access at critical points across physical and digital journeys, organizations reduce friction, increase completion, and strengthen trust with customers who are ready to buy.
This approach supports long-term growth by aligning accessibility with customer experience, revenue performance, and brand credibility across North America.
